Y., 14 Feb. 1827; a farmer; married at Superior, Washtenaw Co., Mich., Lydia Ann Robinson, of Green Oak, Mich.; married (2d) in Monroe Co., Mich., Jane Wheeler, dau. of Jonas Wheeler. They were living at Laingsburgh, in Sciota, Mich., in 1874. 17378
10049 II. Curtis Russell Whitney, b. at Patterson, N. Y., 28 July 1828; a grocer; married at Superior, Mich., 17 Oct. 1850, Orilla Taylor Clark, who was born at Lyndon, N. Y., 18 Oct. 1831, dau. or James and Mary (Corey) Clark. They settled at Maple Rapids, Mich., and were living there in Feb. 1874. 17379
10050 III. Bradley Thomas Whitney, b. at Patterson, N. Y., 16 June 1831; a farmer; married in Clinton Co., Mich., Emily Green. They were living at Bath, Mich., in March 1874. He was a soldier in the war of 1861.
10051 IV. George Washington Whitney, b. at Patterson, N. Y., 21 May 1833; a carpenter; married at Philipstown, N. Y., 13 Aug. 1857, Hester Ann Croft, who was born at Philipstown, 1 Dec. 1837, dau. of Stephen and Betsey (Selleck) Croft. He was a policeman at Brooklyn, N. Y., from 1866 to 1868; a trader there, 1868 to 1869; and, in Nov. 1873, was living at Peekskill, N. Y., engaged in the study of law. 17382
10052 V. Mary Jane Whitney, b. at Superior, Mich., 17 June 1835 (var., 26 July 1840); married there, in 1853, Lyman Butler, a farmer, of Monroe Co., Mich., where he died about 1867. She was married (2d), 25 Dec. 1865, at Maple Rapids, Mich., by Rev. E. T.. Branch, Baptist, to Uriah Cronenvhet, a farmer, who was born at Toronto, C. W., 9 March 1840, son of Michael and Phebe (Diver) Cronenvhet. They settled at St. Charles, Mich., and were living there in March 1874, without children. He enlisted at Monroe City, Mich., 24 Aug. 1861, in Co. I, 11th Reg., Mich. Vol. Infantry; and was discharged at Detroit, Mich., 22 June 1863, for disability, caused by spinal affection. He took part in the battles of Fort Donelson, 28-30 Nov. 1861; Crab Orchard, Ky., 2-6 June 1862; Frankfort, Ky., 26 June 1862, when he was wounded, and lay four days on the field, without care; Pulaski, Tenn., 17 Oct. 1862, where he was wounded in his left leg by a buck-shot, which he still carries; and of Stone River, 29-31 Dec. 1862.
10053 VI. Hiram Tooker Whitney, b. at Superior, Mich., 21 March 1837; a carpenter and joiner; married at Bengal, Mich., 24 July 1858, by Levi Jones, Esq., to Marian Lucretia Hayes, born at Bengal, 17 Oct. 1842; and was divorced from her in 1865. He was married (2d), 22 Sept. 1867, at 17385
