p. 103, #1240: Heber6 WHITNEY died 9 Jan 1785, Bolton, MA, aged 3 years lacking 5 days, according to Bolton vital records. It was a second Heber or Eber6 WHITNEY who had guardian appointed on 3 Jul 1804. Probably it was he whose marriage intentions with Mehitable W. Nutting, "both of Charlestown," were published 31 Oct 1810, Charlestown, MA, according to Charlestown vital records. It was also probably he who died 15 Dec 1843, Bolton, MA, according to Bolton vital records.

She was a twin with Luke Whitney BOWERS. They also had siblings Levina Whitney BOWERS, Joel Dudley BOWERS, Elisha Puffer BOWERS, and Francis Augustus BOWERS, none mentioned by Pierce.
p. 103, #1256: John Cephas HOUGHTON married, 22 Aug 1870, Mary Leora (not May) SMITH, according to the LDS Pedigree Resource File. They were enumerated at Cornwall, VT, in the 1880 Census. There was also another child not mentioned by Pierce, George Emory HOUGHTON, b. 2 Nov 1822, Harvard, MA, d. 17 May 1824, Harvard, MA, according to Harvard vital records.
p. 103, #1257: Mary6 WHITNEY, who Pierce says was unmarried, apparently was the one who married, 1 Apr 1824, Harvard, MA, Addison EDGELY, according to Harvard vital records. He was Addison Smith EDGERLY, born 4 Feb 1799, Durham, NH, son of George and Abigail C. (THOMAS) EDGERLY, according to the LDS Pedigree Resource File.
p. 103, #1260: I have seen no evidence to support a daughter Lydia6 WHITNEY in this family.
p. 103, #489: Pierce is rather confused about this family group. The Isaiah5 WHITNEY who was born 6 Oct 1751, Harvard, MA, died 8 Sep 1755, Harvard, MA, aged about 4 years, and was a brother of this man, according to Harvard vital records. Isaiah5 WHITNEY was born about 1756, and died 15 Jan 1841, Harvard, MA, in his 86th year, also according to Harvard vital records. He married, 28 Feb 1776, Concord, MA, Mary WHEELER (not Sarah -----), and had ten children born in Harvard, MA, but not mentioned by Pierce, according to Concord vital records. It was Isaiah6 WHITNEY, #1246 on page 103, the son of John5 and Sarah (ATHERTON) WHITNEY (not the latter's brother Isaiah5 WHITNEY) who was administrator of John's estate, lived in Saugus and Bolton, and who fathered the children listed here by Pierce. There apparently was no Isaiah WHITNEY who married Sarah ----- except Isaiah3 WHITNEY, #38 on page 31, who died in 1711/2. Sarah ----- may be an error for Sarah ATHERTON, mother, not wife, of Isaiah6 WHITNEY.
p. 103, #1261: Sarah7 WHITNEY "Jr." married, 25 (not 23) May 1823, Bolton, MA, George SAWYER, according to Bolton vital records.
p. 103, #1261: Sarah7 (WHITNEY) SAWYER died on 27 Mar 1836, Bolton, MA, aged 36 years, according to Bolton vital records.
