Benjamin7 Whitney (Moses6, Ezra5, James4, John3, Jonathan2, John1), son of Moses6 and Nancy (Mann)(Tyler) Whitney, was born 22 May 1781, Douglas, MA,[1] and died 23 May 1818.

He married, 1806, Hudson, NY, Rachel Nye Spooner, daughter of William and Remember (Freeman) Spooner. She was born about 12 May 1782, Fairhaven, MA, and died 4 Mar 1852, Ashland, MA, aged 69 years 9 months 22 days, of lung fever.[2]

He resided Dorchester, MA.

i. John Andros8 Whitney, b. 23 Nov 1811; bapt. 11 Jul 1819, Dorchester, MA;[3] m. Eliza Wellington.
ii. Lydia Ann Wyatt Whitney, b. ca. 7 Aug 1807, Hudson, NY; bapt. 11 Jul 1819, Dorchester, MA;[4] d. 17 Apr 1897, Ashland, MA, aged 89 years 8 months 10 days, of old age;[5] said by Pierce to have m. ----- Wyatt, but death record calls her single; listed with surname "Whitney" in 1880; resided Framingham, MA; P.O. Box 257.
iii. Benjamin Franklin Whitney, b. ca. 4 Jul 1818, Dorchester, MA; bapt. 11 Jul 1819, Dorchester, MA;[6] m. Nancy C. Manchester.
