According to a patron submission to the L.D.S. International Genealogical Index, Tressa's surname was Gilet, and she was born 5 Dec 1806, and died 25 Feb 1894. The same source gives Jacob's death date as 23 Oct 1870. She could be the Thirza Gillet, b. ca. 1805, NY, daughter of Jonathan and Thirza Olivilla (Clark) Gillet, of Cicero, NY.

Edwin Ruthven was a character from the romantic novel The Scottish Chiefs (1809), by Jane Porter.
