Josiah S.6 Whitney (Jacob5, Benjamin4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Jacob5 and Hannah (Mills) Whitney, was born 1 Aug 1807, Phillips, ME,[1] and died after 1880.

He married, 20 Apr 1833, Delton, Sauk Co., WI, Martha Barker. She died before 1860.

In 1875 he resided in Chippewa Falls, WI.

Children of Josiah S.6 and Martha (Barker) Whitney, all born Phillips, ME:

i. Annie Carr7 Whitney, b. 29 Aug 1834, Phillips, ME; d. 1 Apr 1910, Rochester, MN; m. 1851, Oronoco, MN, Nelson Conrad Bates, b. 23 Sep 1832, d. 29 Oct 1887, Rochester, MN.
ii. Samuel Wellington Whitney, b. 8 Aug 1830 [prob. should be 1836], Phillips, ME; d. 6 Dec 1869.
