Appleton Downer6 Whitney (Asa5, Joshua4, William3, Joshua2, John1), son of Asa5 and Hepsabeth (Watrous) Whitney, was born 4 Jan 1779, Salisbury, CT,[1] and died 16 Jan 1851, Berea, OH.
He married firstly, 1800, Ann Esther Jewett. She was born in 1782 and died 24 Mar 1801, Pittsfield, MA.
He married secondly, 19 Nov 1807, Lanesborough, MA, or 27 Sep 1807, Pittsfield, MA, Dolly Wyman. She was born about 1790 and died 3 Jan 1878, Sinclairville, NY.
He resided Pittsfield, MA, and Berea, OH.
