Oliver Walcot⁷ Whitney (Milton⁶, Asa⁵, Joshua⁴, William³, Joshua², John¹), son of Milton⁶ and Lydia (Cleveland) Whitney, was born 23 Feb 1817, Pittsfield, MA, and died 3 Jan 1864.

He married, 12 Sep 1840, Lorain Co., OH, Esther Alice Rising, daughter of Major and . She was born 20 Sep 1823, OH, and died after 1860.

He resided in Pittsfield, OH.

ii.	Charles Francis Whitney, b. 11 Jun 1843, OH; resided Omaha, NE. He was possibly the Charles F. Whitney who m. 2 Apr 1870, Douglas Co., NE, Emma L. Logan. He was probably named after Oliver Wolcott, Jr. (1760–1833), United States Secretary of the Treasury from 1795 to 1800 and the 24th Governor of Connecticut from 1817 to 1827.
