Sumner Whitney (Phinehas, (poss.) John5, (poss.) Samuel4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Phinehas and Mary (Crommitt) Whitney, was born 5 Mar 1809, Phillips, ME (also listed as Sommer Whitney),[1] and died 1 Apr 1887, Presque Isle, ME. He was buried in Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle, ME.

He married, 5 Aug 1835, Houlton, ME, Diana Broadstreet, daughter of Nathaniel and Sally (Parkhurst) Bradstreet. She was born about 1820, Palermo, ME, and died 13 Jan 1909, Presque Isle, ME. She was buried in Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle, ME.
