Alfred⁸ Whitney (Richard⁷, James⁶, Richard⁵, Richard⁴, Richard³, Richard², John¹), son of Richard⁷ and Sally (Turner) Whitney, was born 19 May 1813, Harvard, MA,^[1] and died 29 Jun 1873, Brighton, MA, aged 60 years 1 month 10 days, of Bright's disease.^[2]

He "of Boston" married, 1 Dec 1836, Manchester, MA, Anna Hooper Goldsmith,^[3] daughter of Nehemiah and Elizabeth (Kitfield) Goldsmith. She was born 27 Jan 1814, Manchester, MA, and died 31 Jul 1883, Bedford, MA, aged 69 years 6 months 4 days, of Bright's disease.^[4]
