Family:Whitney, Jonathan W. (1819-1878)

Jonathan W.⁷ Whitney (Luther⁶, Israel⁵, Elijah⁴, Isaiah³, Thomas², John¹), son of Luther⁶ and Melinda (Wetherbee) Whitney, was born Nov 1819, Harvard, MA, and died 15 Aug 1878.

He married, 13 Dec 1840, Thompson, CT, Mercy R. Chase, "both of Worcester, Mass.",^[1] daughter of Eli R. and Susan L. (-----) Chase. She was born 30 Jan 1822, Dartmouth, Bristol County, RI, and died 5 Jan 1899, Boston, MA, aged 77 years, of anaemia and marasmus.^[2]

He was a blacksmith. He resided Springfield, OH, 74 Arcade, and 23 Humbolt Ave., Boston, MA.

iv.	Emory C. Whitney, b. 20 Dec 1858, NY; m. Aug 1894, Jennie Olmstead; resided 19 Capitol Ave., Hartford, CT.
