James Lewis8 Whitney (Abraham Johnson7, James6, Samuel5, Samuel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Abraham Johnson7 and Philena (Adams) Whitney, was born 12 Mar 1808, Danby, NY, and died after Dec 1875.
He married firstly, 7 Oct 1827, Danby, NY, Lucy Maria Hall, daughter of Silas Hall, of Danby. She died 7 Jul 1841, Caton, NY, and was buried there.
He married secondly, 28 Oct 1841, Maria Eldred. She was born 24 Oct 1820, Otsego Co., NY, and died after 1880.
Phoenix says the following:
