Oliver Walcot7 Whitney (Milton6, Asa5, Joshua4, William3, Joshua2, John1), son of Milton6 and Lydia (Cleveland) Whitney, was born 23 Feb 1817, Pittsfield, MA, and died 3 Jan 1864.

He married, 12 Sep 1840, Lorain Co., OH, Esther Alice Rising, daughter of Major Rising. She was born 20 Sep 1823, OH, and died after 1880.

He resided in Pittsfield, OH.

Children of Oliver Walcot7 and Esther (Rising) Whitney:

i. Caroline8 Whitney, b. ca. 1842, OH.
ii. Charles Francis Whitney, b. 11 Jun 1843, OH; resided Omaha, NE.
iii. Alice Evelyn Whitney, b. 19 Jul 1849, Pittsfield, OH; m. 5 May 1875, Des Moines, IA, James Patton Clarke; died 27 Nov 1910.

Note

He was probably named after Oliver Wolcott, Jr. (1760–1833), United States Secretary of the Treasury from 1795 to 1800 and the 24th Governor of Connecticut from 1817 to 1827.
