Joseph S.8 Whitney (Jonathan7, Jonathan6, Caleb5, Jonathan4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of Jonathan7 and Lucy (Spaulding) Whitney, was born about 1828, MA.

He married before 1856, Hannah Chase. She was born about 1831, Maine, and died 1871, Brooklyn, NY.

He resided Brooklyn, NY, and Boston, MA.

Children of Joseph S.8 and Hannah (Chase) Whitney:

i. Annie9 Whitney, b. 24 Jan 1865; m. 28 Jul 1883, Herbert L. Browning; resided East Templeton, MA. He was b. 1858; is a farmer.
Ch.: Lorena May, b. 1884; Alice Emma, b. 1886.
ii. Minnie A. Whitney, b. 3 Sep 1855; m. 18 May 1870, Henry Finegar; resided 164 Linden St., near Central Ave., Brooklyn, NY. He was b. 4 Mar 1849; is a book-keeper.
Ch.: Joseph Henry, b. 2 June 1872; d. 2 Jun 1872; Emma Francis, b. 25 Apr 1873; Harry, b. 23 Dec 1878; d. 22 Aug 1879.
