Selah Whitney (Leland, Benjamin), son of Leland and Viletta (Pierce) Whitney, was born 18 Aug 1828, Westminster, VT, and died 18 Jun 1863, Putney, VT, aged 34 years 10 months.[1]

He married, 16 Jun 1851, Putney, VT, Lucy Sophronia Allen,[2] daughter of Benjamin and Esther (Wilson) Allen. She was born 3 Aug 1823, MA, and died 24 Apr 1909, Keene, NH.
