William H.9 Whitney (David H.8, George7, Ephraim6, David5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of David H.8 and Eliza (Edgeworth) Whitney, was born 12 Sep 1826, Scottsville, NY, and died 2 Oct 1897, Dane Co., WI.

He married, 19 Nov 1856, Grant Co., WI, Persis G. (Whitcher) Ripley, daughter of John and Annah (Culver) Whitcher. She was born 17 Jul 1832, NH, and died after 1910. She had married firstly, 21 Oct 1849, Grant Co., WI, Dr. Benjamin Ripley.
