Benjamin Whitney, (Samuel Kellogg, Benjamin), son of Samuel Kellogg and Grace (Fairweather) Whitney, was born say 1785, probably CT, and died after 1816.

He married Abigail Fancher, daughter of Square and Abigail (Abbott) Fancher, or daughter of John and Susanna (Munrow) Fancher. If she was the latter, she was born 26 Feb 1782, Poundridge, NY. In any case, she died 10 Jan 1856, Lewisboro, NY

Children of Benjamin and Abigail (Fancher) Whitney (possibly incomplete):

i. Lewis Whitney, b. 22 Aug 1814.
ii. William Whitney, b. 25 Jan 1816, Wilton, CT; m. Hannah Metcalf St. John.
iii. Harriet Whitney, b. 15 May 1817.
iv. Legrand Whitney, b. 9 Feb 1820; d. ca. 1864.
v. Samuel Whitney, b. 15 Oct 1822.
vi. James Whitney, b. 16 Apr 1824; d. 1 May 1893.
