Charles Alfred⁹ Whitney (Eleazer Spalding⁸, Jonathan⁷, Jonathan⁶, Caleb⁵, Jonathan⁴, Richard³, Richard², John¹), son of Eleazer Spalding⁸ and Lucy (Peckham) Whitney, was born 10 Sep 1853, East Templeton, MA (or Fitzwilliam, NH, per marriage record), and died after 1907.

He married, 8 Apr 1874, Chelsea, MA, Rebecca Bourne Hinckley, daughter of Freeman and Mary A. (Tupper) Hinckley.^[1] She was born 9 Sep 1848, Sandwich, MA, and died 24 Oct 1911, East Templeton, MA.

He resided East Templeton, MA.

He (as "Alfred Whitney") was informant on the death certificate of his uncle Jonathan Mason Whitney, in Dec 1907. In the birth record of daughter Etta, he was "Alfred C."

ii.	Lucy Alberta Whitney, b. 23 May 1878, Millbury, MA;[5] m. 11 May 1899, Templeton, MA, Robert M. Cobleigh, b. ca. 1870, Templeton, MA, son of Albert M. and Olive E. (Edwards) Cobleigh;[6] resided East Templeton, MA.
