Family:Whitney, Oliver Walcot (1817-1864)

Oliver Walcot⁷ Whitney (Milton⁶, Asa⁵, Joshua⁴, William³, Joshua², John¹), son of Milton⁶ and Lydia (Cleveland) Whitney, was born 23 Feb 1817, Pittsfield, MA, and died 3 Jan 1864.

He married, 12 Sep 1841, Lorain Co. OH, Esther Alice Rising or Esther Ann Rising, daughter of Major H. and Sophia (Hale) Rising. She was born about 1823, OH, and died after 1880.

He resided in Pittsfield, OH.

i.	Caroline8 Whitney, b. ca. 1842, OH.
ii.	Charles Francis Whitney, b. 11 Jun 1843, OH; resided Omaha, NE. He was possibly the Charles F. Whitney who m. 2 Apr 1870, Douglas Co., NE, Emma L. Logan. He was probably named after Oliver Wolcott, Jr. (1760-1833), Secretary of the Treasury under Washington and Adams, and 24th Governor of Connecticut.
