Census 1860: Bureau, Bureau Co., Il; farm laborer Census 1870: Bureau, Bureau Co., Il; laborer Census 1880: Wyanet, Bureau Co., Il Census 1900: Wyanet, Bureau Co., Il; widow Census 1910: Wyanet, Bureau Co., Il Obituary: Nancy Whitney Ballard [Bureau County Republican, Thursday, October 2, 1913] "In the passing away of Mrs. Nancy Whitney Ballard at her home in the west part of twon last Tuesday afternoon, Wyanet lost one of its oldest citizens. She had only been ill a short time and not until the last day or two had her illness been considered serious. The deceased was born at Euricksville, O., My 30 1827 [should be Urichsville] She was united in marriage to A.W. Ballard at West Bureau Sept. 29, 1857 and resided there until about thirty-five years ago when they moved to Wyanet. To this union were born four daughters, May, Edith, Rosamond and Jessie of whom only Miss Edith survises. Mr. Ballard passed away in March 1900. The descedent was a member of the Congregational Church. Besides the daughter above mentioned, Mrs. Ballard is survived by three brothers, one of whom was our former townsman, William Whitney, now of Coer d'Alene, Idaho. Another resides in Nebraska and the other in Oregon, Her only sister, Mrs. Peck, lives in Los Angeles, Cal. the funeral was from the Congregational Church Thursday afternoon the pastor. Rev. Charles Elliott officiating. The interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery."
