Ephraim Whitney was granted land for his military service on 11 Apr 1825. He was a private in McKeon's Company of the 3rd Regiment of Artillery prior to 1825. His land grant was for this 160 acre parcel of land: Sec 25, Twp 13N, Range 7W, Meridian 5PM, Independence County, Arkansas. His deed in which he was a grantor to Robert Gibson in the sale dated 1825 in Independence County, Arkansas showed Ephraim was a native of Broomfield, Oxford County, Maine.
