Family:Whitney, Luther (1790-1871)

Luther⁶ Whitney (Israel⁵, Elijah⁴, Isaiah³, Thomas², John¹), son of Israel⁵ and Abigail (Fairbanks)(Puffer) Whitney, was born 5 Feb 1790, Harvard, MA,^[1] and died 12 Mar 1871, Harvard, MA.

He married, 3 Jan 1814, Harvard, MA, Melinda Wetherbee.^[2] She was born 1797, and died 4 May 1847, Harvard, MA, aged 50 years, of consumption, or aged 53 years.^[3]

He was born in Harvard on the farm which his grandfather had purchased before the town was incorporated. He always resided there, and at this death the property passed into possession of his son Luke. He resided Harvard, MA.
