Silas D. Whitney (Ephraim S., John, Benjamin, John, Benjamin, John), was born abt 1832, Salem, OH, and died 07 07 1887, Laramie Co., Wyoming.

He married 01 04 1865, Madison, WI, Sarah Jane Chadwick, daughter of Charles and Jane Chadwick. She was born 07 1848, Illinois, and died 10 24 1906, prob. Wilsonville, Nebraska.

Silas D. Whitney was a Civil War veteran. His widow received a pension from the U.S. government.
