Edward Gilman9 Whitney (Edward Purcel8, Asa P.7, George W.6, Asa5, Nathan4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Edward Purcel8 and Carrie (Whiting) Whitney, was born "Willie" 6 Nov 1867, Waltham, MA.[1], and died after 1900.

He married, 29 Oct 1891, Waltham, MA, Esther Jane Mansfield, daughter of Joseph D. and Martha W. (-----) Mansfield.[2] She was born 28 Nov 1869, and died after 1900.

He was a druggist; resided Townsend, MA.

i. Edward Tracey10 Whitney, b. 31 Jan 1894, Townsend, MA;[3] d. aft. 1900.
ii. Charles Cyrus Whitney, b. 19 Dec 1895, Townsend, MA;[4] d. aft. 1900.
