10006 IV. Frances Janet Guiles, b. at Reading, Conn., 8 Ap. 1848; married there, 24 Dec. 1867, by Rev. William Town, Methodist, to George Sherman, a button-maker, son of Ebenezer and Eunice (Fairweather) Sherman, of Weston, Conn. He was a soldier in the war of 1861; and lived at Reading in 1874. 17307

10008 I. Hannah Retta Whitney, b. at Upper Highlands, Philipstown, N. Y., 27 Aug. 1838; married at her grandmother's house, in Philipstown, 20 June 1866, by Rev. E. Sherman Bishop, Methodist, to John Broas Cargill, a farmer, son of James1 and Phebe (Broas) Cargill, of Philipstown, where he was born 11 Jan. 1831. They were living in Nov. 1874, within a quarter of a mile of the Dutchess County line. 17310
10009 II. Elizabeth Whitney, b. at Philipstown, N. Y., 8 Dec. 1839; married at Rushford, N. Y., 20 June 1858, Myron Morgan, a farmer, son of Samuel and Clarion (Holt) Morgan, of Genesee Falls, N. Y. He was born at Portage, N. Y., 7 Sept. 1837. They dwelt at Allen, N. Y., till 1859; at Genesee Falls, two years; at Eagle, N. Y., two years; at Pike, N. Y., five years; then settled at Rushford, and were living there in 1874. 17316
10010 III. Harriet Whitney, b. at Philipstown, N. Y., 28 Feb. 1841; was living at Galesburgh, Ill., in 1874, unmarried.
10011 IV. Sereno Banks Whitney, b. at Fishkill, N. Y., 1 May 1842; a farmer; married at Centreville, N. Y., 11 March 1863, Rhoda Rebecca Crowell, dau. of David and Phebe (Shotwell) Crowell, of Centreville, formerly of Cohocton, N. Y., where she was born 18 Feb. 1838. She died at Ulster, Iowa, 29 Aug. 1870, and was buried in Ulsterville Cemetery. He married (2d), 1 Sept. 1872, at Ulster, his first wife's cousin, Esther Crowell, dau. of Edward and Caroline (Persons) Crowell, of Ulster, formerly of Bloomfield, Wis., where she was born 8 June 1852. He dwelt at Pike, N. Y., in 1863; at Hume, N. Y., in 1864; at Pike again, in 1865-66; at Castile, N. Y., in 1867; then settled at Ulster, and was living there in 1874. 17319
10012 V. Isaac Scolefield Whitney, b. at Fishkill, N. Y., 2 Jan. 1844; enlisted at Pike, N. Y., in Co. C, 104th Reg., N. Y. S. Vol. Infantry; was
  1 James Cargill, born at Stamford, Conn., 14 Oct. 1792, was son of Henry Cargill, an only son, who was born at New York City, or on Staten Island, 14 May 1757.
