Gilbert, Congregational, at her father's house in Wallingford, Conn., 15 Oct. 1848, to Katharine Bethanie Dowd, who was born at Clinton, Conn., and died at Northford, 4 June 1850. He was married (2d), by Rev. Edwin R. Gilbert, at her father's house in Wallingford, 14 July 1852, to Ellen Augusta Hough, born at Wallingford, 1 Feb. 1825, dau. of James and Mary (Tyler) Hough. He lived at Northford in 1868, on the farm where he was born, which was occupied by his father and grandfather before him; the house being then one hundred and thirteen years old.
