by Rev. Rufus Bush, rector of St. John's Church, Battle Creek, Mich., to Adeline Sibyl Goucher. They dwelt at Muskegon, Mich., in 1874.
12186 II. Ambrose Worthington Whitney, b. at Allen's Hill, Richmond, N. Y., 18 July 1838; moved, with his father, to Utica, Mich., where he enlisted in Co. H, First Reg. of Mich. Cavalry. He was accidentally shot, while on duty at Charlestown, Va., 6 March 1862, died the next day, and was buried near Charlestown.
12187 III. Gurdon Clark Whitney, b. at Allen's Hill, Richmond, N. Y., 4 Oct. 1839; a farmer; married at her father's house, 11 Jan. 1865, by Rev. William Platt, Congregational, to Abigail St. John, dau. of George and Permelia (Taft) St. John, of Shelby, Mich., where she was born 7 Jan.1844. They dwelt at Shelby till 28 Ap. 1867; and then settled at Deerfield, Mich., where they were still living in 1874. 18836
12188 IV. James Henderson Whitney, b. at Allen's Hill, Richmond, N. Y., 22 July 1842; a farmer and horticulturist; married at her father's house, 16 Nov. 1869, by Rev. William Platt, Congregational, to Nora Henrietta Hall, dau. of Isaac and Betsey (Daily) Hall, of Macomb, Mich., where she was born 11 Feb. 1845. They settled at Black Lake, Mich., 10 Sept. 1871, and were still living there in 1874, without children.
12189 V. Minerva Elizabeth Whitney, b. at Royalton Centre, N. Y., 26 Nov. 1845; married in her mother's house at Shelby, Mich., 14 Nov. 1871, by Rev. William Platt, Congregational, to James Henry Trowbridge, a manufacturer of lumber and shingles, son of Amariah Castaline and Rhoda More (Postle) Trowbridge, of Troy, Mich., where he was born 10 Jan. 1843. They were living at Evart, Mich., in 1874; and he was then proprietor of the Evart House. 18837
12190 VI. Emily Joanna Whitney, b. at Royalton Centre, N. Y., 17 Sept. 1848; was living at Evart, Mich., in 1874, with her sister.

12192 VIII. Charles Edwin Whitney, b. at Shelby, Mich., 14 Aug. 1852.
12193 IX. Luna Henderson Whitney, b. at Shelby, Mich., 27 Nov. 1854; died there, 23 Aug. 1863, and was buried in Utica Cemetery, Shelby.
