married (2d), 17 Nov. 1834, at Beverly, Canada West, by Peter Scofield, a clergyman of the Ch. of Eng., to Sarah Lake, who was born 28 Jan. 1811, at Little Nation, C. W., dau. of John and Sarah (Mathews) Lake. He moved from Canada into the State of New York, where he lived, for several years, in Ellisburgh and Henderson; went thence to Delta, Mich.; and finally settled at Grand Ledge, in Oneida, Mich., where he died 22 Ap. 1862, and was buried in the Grand Ledge Village Cemetery. His widow was still living, in 1874, at Grand Ledge.

II. Sophronia Whitney, b. in Henderson, N. Y., 4 Dec. 1807; died there, 5 Feb. 1809, and was buried in a small graveyard in that town, which is no longer used. No gravestone can now be found.

III. Richard Ostrom Whitney, b. in Henderson, N. Y., 15 May 1811; a farmer; married, 17 July 1832, in Ellisburgh, N. Y., by Jonathan Bullard, Esq., of Henderson, to Laura Reed; born in Henderson, 20 June 1811, dau. of Knight Dexter and Polly (Nutting) Reed,1 who lived in Ellisburgh at the time of her marriage. They settled in the north-west part of Ellisburgh, where she died, 14 July 1843, and was buried in the Reed Cemetery, near her father's house. He was married (2d), 3 March 1844, in Henderson, by Harvey Crittenton, Esq., of Henderson, to Elizabeth Hungerford, born in Clinton, N. Y., 18 Oct. 1812, dau. of Seeley and Dorcas (Mallory) Hungerford, who lived in Henderson at the time of her marriage. Their home is in the north-west part of the town, about a mile from Lake Ontario.

IV. Albert Sylvanus Augustus St. John Whitney, b. in Henderson, N. Y., 26 Dec. 1815; a farmer; was living, in 1874, with his mother, and brother John, on his father's homestead in the north-west corner of Ellisburgh, N. Y., unmarried.

V. Cynthia Sophronia Whitney, b. in Henderson, 12 Feb. 1818; married, 23 June 1842, at her father's house in Henderson, by Albert A. Davis, Esq., of Henderson, to Calvin Hall, a blacksmith and farmer, of Belleville, in Ellisburgh, son of Giles and Rachel (Pryor) Davis, of Belleville, where he was born. They lived in Ellisburgh, near Belleville post-office, in 1874.

1 Knight Dexter Reed died in Ellisburgh, 22 Nov. 1849, aged 60 years, and was buried in the Reed Cemetery.
