where she was still living in June 1875. He died there, 21 Feb. 1868, and was buried near his first wife, in Sandy Hill Cemetery, Paterson.
He bore, throughout life, the surname of Whitney, and left it to his children.

2617 I. Lanah Whitney, b. at Warwick, N. Y., 26 Oct. 1819; married, 24 Dec. 1844, at Rochester, N. Y., where his parents then lived, James Lockwood Chichester, who was born in Norwalk, Conn., 27 Feb. 1821, son of David and Phebe (Lockwood) Chichester. They settled in Batavia, N. Y.; and, in 1847, moved to Buffalo, N. Y., where they were living in March 1875, at 188 South Division Street. He was then a book-binder and manufacturer of blank-books, at 263 and 265 Washington Street. 7743
2618 II. Mary Whitney, b. at Warwick, N. Y., in 1821; died, 13 or 15 May 1831, in Rochester, N. Y., and was buried there.
2619 III. Joel Whitney, b. at Sloatsburgh, in Ramapo, N. Y., in 1822; died the same year in Orange Co., N. Y.

2620 IV. Ann Whitney, b. at Sloatsburgh, in Ramapo, N. Y., in July 1825; married at Akron, Ohio, 24 Ap. 1852, William Simmons, who died about 1863, in New York City; married (2d), in 1864, Cyrus Paige. They were living at La Fayette, Indiana, in March 1875. She was called Bridget by her parents, but changed her name to Ann.
2621 V. Edwin Whitney, b. at Sloatsburgh, in Ramapo, N. Y., 10 March 1826; a printer, or bookbinder; went to California in 1849, and was last heard from, by his family, in 1854.
2622 VI. Morris Whitney, b. at Slate Hill, N. Y., 10 May 1828; a mariner; died in a hospital at Liverpool, England, 23 Oct. 1856, unmarried. He worked for several years, as a book-binder, in the Bible House, New York.
2623 VII. Sarah Whitney, b. at Rochester, N. Y., 11 May 1831; married at Buffalo, N. Y., 11 May 1854, William Thompson, a farmer, son of John and Nancy. (Linton) Thompson, of Garvah, Co. Derry, Ireland, where he 7744
