Ellisburgh, 5 March 1872; and was buried in the Ellisburgh Cemetery. His widow was living at Ellisburgh in 1874.

2653 I. Richard Harrison Dresser, b. in Ellisburgh, N. Y., 4 June 1803; a joiner, and afterward a steamboat-engineer; married in Ogdensburgh, N. Y., Fanny Pepper, of Canada, dau. of Robert Pepper. About 1847, while living in Oswego, N. Y., having given up his position as engineer, he suddenly disappeared, without warning, and his friends have not since heard from him. His widow was living in West Oswego, N. Y., in June 1877. 7798
2654 II. Sally Dresser, b. in Ellisburgh, N. Y., 9 Aug. 1806; married there, 8 Nov. 1821, by Lyman Ellis, Esq., to Samuel Porter, a miller, son of Dr. Daniel and Rachel (Weatherby) Porter, of Jamesville, N. Y., formerly of Wendell, Mass., where he was born 19 Feb. 1796. They dwelt at Ellis Village, N. Y., for ten years; at Parish, N. Y., for twenty-four years; and then settled at Constantia, N. Y., where he died 10 Nov. 1872. He was buried in Parish Cemetery. She was hiving at Constantia in June 1877. 7805
2655 III. Joel Dresser, b. in Ellisburgh, N. Y., 3 Sept. 1808; a farmer; lived in Syracuse, N. Y., for five years after leaving his father's house; married at Hebron, N. Y., 3 Feb. 1841, Belinda Alden Button, who was born at Hebron, N. Y., 30 Nov. 1811, dau. of Gideon and Mary (Stone) Button. After living in Granville and Salem, N. Y., till about 1850, they settled at Short Tract, in Granger, N. Y., where they dwelt for twenty years. Since 16 Ap. 1870, they have resided in Jefferson, Iowa. 7815
2656 IV. Olive Osgood Dresser, b. in Ellisburgh, N. Y., 7 Oct. 1811; died there, 9 Nov. 1814.
2657 V. DeWitt Clinton Dresser, b. in Ellisburgh, N. Y., 11 Oct. 1817; a farmer; married there, 30 July 1846, by Prior Scott, Esq., to Lydia Challans, who was born in Henderson, N. Y., 4 Feb. 1826, dau. of James1 and Anna (Slattery) Challans. They settled in the house built by his 7818
  1 James Bonnet, an English soldier in Canada, deserted, and changed his name to Challans, which was his mother's maiden name. He escaped to the United States, and settled in Henderson, N. Y., where he died 16 July 1826.
