Seventh Generation.
He was enlisted, 5 July 1861, as a private, in Co. D, 2d Reg., Minn. Volunteers; and was honorably discharged after three years service, having been successively promoted to the grades of sergeant, 2d Lieut. (27 Oct. (1862), and 1st Lieut.
2772 VII. Henry Lobdell, b. in North Salem, N.Y., 8 June 1832; a mason and farmer; married, 3 June 1857, at her father's house in Liberty, N.Y., by Rev. Mr. Murphey, Baptist, to Sarah Bethia Nichols, who was born at Liberty, 3 Feb. 1835, dau. of William Mallett and Sally (Briggs) Nichols. They settled on his father's homestead, a mile and a half north of the Episcopal Church in North Salem, and were living there in Nov. 1874. 8010

Electa Maria Jane Whitney, b. at Westmoreland, N.Y., 2 Feb. 1815; married in May ----- in Chautauqua, N.Y., to Henry Leander Church, proprietor of flour- and saw-mills, son of Thomas and Sally Nancy (Parmelee) Church, of Haddam, Conn., where he was born 29 Sept. 1811. They dwelt at Warren, Penn., till about 1857; and then moved to Union City, Penn., where they were living in Ap. 1874. 8013
2774 II. Charles Henry Whitney, b. at Westmoreland, N.Y., 16 Sept. 1816; died at Westmoreland, 23 Sept. 1817, and was buried there.
2775 III. Alexander Hamilton Whitney, b. at Westmoreland, N. Y., 11 Oct. 1818; moved with his father, in 1821, to Chautauqua, N. Y., where he married, 27 Aug. 1840, Mary Ann Rheubottom, dau. of John and Martha (Allen) Rheubottom, of Chautauqua. She was born in Washington Co., N.Y., 1 Feb. 1824; died in Chautauqua, 14 Jan. 1853; and was buried in Magnolia Cemetery. He married (2d), 6 Oct. 1853, at Buffalo, N. Y., Lucy Almeda Clark, dau. of Isaac and Hannah (Gates) Clark, of Springfield Corners, Penn., where she was born, and g. dau. of Salmon and Lucy (Fosdic) Gates. They were living at Chautauqua in June 1874. 8021
2776 IV. Caroline Emily Whitney, b. at Westmoreland, N. Y., 20 Oct. 1820; died unmarried, at Warren, Penn., 18 Dec. 1848; and was buried in Chautauqua, N. Y.
2777 V. Ruth Ann Whitney, b. at Magnolia in Chautauqua, N. Y., 19 Feb. 1823; died at Magnolia, 15 May 1839, and was buried there in the family cemetery.
