3942 I. Mary Elizabeth Whitney, b. at Stamford, Conn., 14 Nov. 1806; married at Albany, N.Y., 9. Jan. 1827, by Rev. Henry R. Weed, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Albany, to William Alvord,1 an importer of foreign woods, a manufacturer of furniture, and a dealer therein at wholesale, son of William and Lucy (Clayborn) Alvord, of Rutland, Vt., where he was born 25 Feb. 1801. He dwelt in Albany from 1825 till his death, which took place 17 Dec. 1837, at Savannah, Ga., where he was buried. She died in 1870, at the house of her son William, in San Francisco, Cal. 10481
3942a II. James Knapp Whitney, b. at Albany, N.Y., 15 May 1810; died 19 May 1811.
3943 III. Catharine Ann Whitney, b. at Albany, N. Y., 27 July 1812; married there, 1 May 1832, by Rev. William Bud Sprague, D. D., pastor of the Second Presbyterian Church of Albany, to James Wilson Green,2 of New York City, a lawyer, son of Richard and Sally (Webb) Green, of East Haddam, Conn., where he was born 20 March 1809. They dwelt in New York for several years; in Richmond, Ind., seven years; in New York again, till 1 May 1846; and then settled in Brooklyn, N. Y., where she died, in Adams Street, 21 Aug. 1849, and was buried in Greenwood Cemetery. He was living at 543 Henry Street, Brooklyn, in June 1877, 10486
