Elizabeth Ann Maria (Roake) Hart, of Yorktown, N. Y., where she was born 25 Aug. 1805. They lived at 17 Renwick Street, New York, from 1829 to 1832; and afterward at Shrub Oak, in Yorktown, where she died 22 Dec. 1844, and was buried near her parents in the Methodist Cemetery at Shrub Oak. He was married (2d), 14 Aug. 1847, at her father's house in Yorktown, by Rev. Benjamin Curry, Methodist Episcopal, to Amy Requa, who was born at Yorktown, 9 Dec. 1803, dau. of Abraham and Bethia (Hopkins) Requa. They were living, in 1877, at Shrub Oak, where lie had been postmaster since 20 Dec. 1841.

IV. Edmund Purdy, b. at Mamakating. N. Y., 23 Aug. 1807; a house- and ship-joiner; married in Varick Street, opposite Richmond Hill Theatre, New York City, 26 March 1832, by the Rev. Dr Cox, pastor of the Greene Street Congregational Church, to Harriet Van Wart, dau. of Levi and Rachel (Minerly) Van Wart, of Sing Sing, N. Y., where she was born 10 Oct. 1811. In 1846, they moved from New York to Fox Lake, Wis.; and were living there in May 1875. He enlisted, 18 July 1861, in the 8th Reg., Wis. Vol.; and was discharged for disability, 14 Aug. 1862.

V. Alsop Purdy, b. at Mamakating, N. Y. 2 Aug. 1809; a house-builder; married in New York City, 27 Ap. 1836, by Rev. Luther Mead, Methodist Episcopal, to Hannah Elizabeth Thorp, dau. of Benjamin and Margaret (Stuyvesant) Thorp, of New York, where she was born 11 Jan. 1816. They settled in New York City, and moved from there, in the Spring of 1848, to Hudson City, now Jersey City Heights, N. J., where she died 14 Dec. 1853. She was buried in Greenwood Cemetery. He was married (2d), 10 Feb. 1856, at Chatham, N. J., by Rev. James Gilbert, Presbyterian, to Sarah Pierson Gardiner, who was born at Chatham, 7 Feb. 1822, dau. of Robert and Nancy Day (Crane) Gardiner, and widow of Caleb Crane. They moved to Brooklyn, N. Y., 1 Nov. 1865, and were living at 537 Gates Avenue in Dec. 1874.
