Seventh Generation.
Rev. J. G. Geddes, in the Church of England, at Hamilton, 27 May 1853, to Frances Ann Mortimer, born at Springfield, Ohio, 29 Feb. 1836, dau. of George and Jane (Peacock) Mortimer.1 They settled in Galt, C. W.; thence went to Brantford, C. W.; and in June 1857, moved to Geneva, Wis. In Feb. 1868, he returned to Canada, settling in Seaforth, where he died 6 Feb. 1871. He was buried in the Baptist Cemetery at New Scotland, Ontario. His widow lived at Seaforth in 1873.
4887 IX. Charles Whitney, b. at Grimsby, Canada West, 1 Aug. 1833; died 17 Aug. 1834.
4888 X. Emma Whitney, b. at Grimsby, Canada West, 12 Sept. 1835; died at Scotland, C. W., 17 March 1847, and was buried there.
4889 XI. Charles Whitney, b. at Scotland, Canada West, 10 Sept 1838 a cabinet-maker; married there, by Rev. William Hay, Congregational, 16 Oct. 1861, to Elizabeth Malcolm, born at Scotland, 16 Sept. 1844, dau. of Augustus and Bathina (Bugbee) Malcolm. He went to California in 1856, and lived there one year; then dwelt in Elkader, Iowa, for a year; and has since lived in his native town. 12538

4890 I. Harvey Abbott, b. at Westmoreland, N. Y., 26 Dec. 1805; a farmer; died unmarried, at Busti, N. Y., 28 Nov. 1861, and was buried there.
4891 II. Alba Cinda Abbott, b. at Westmoreland, N. Y., 11 July 1807; married, 6 March 1831, John Stevens, son of Frederick and Nancy (Landon) Stevens, of Herkimer, N. Y., where he was born 15 Feb. 1808. They settled at Herkimer; and afterward moved to Busti, N. Y., where she died 18 Sept 1859, and was buried. He was living at Warren, Penn., in June 1875. 12540
4892 III. John Abbott, b. at Shawangunk, N. Y., 21 Sept. 1811; a farmer; married at Quaker Hill, Penn., 26 Dec. 1847, Sarah Elizabeth Herrick, dau. of Selah and Susanna (Springer) Herrick, of Jerusalem, N. Y., where she was born 27 July 1825. He dwelt at Busti, N. Y., for eleven years; at Sugar Grove, Penn., six years; at Jamestown, N. Y., fifteen years; and then moved to Geneva, Wis., where they were living in Aug. 1875. 12548
