IV. Helen Eliza Whitney, b. at Fairfield, Vt., 27 Oct. 1845; married at Grand Rapids, Mich., 28 Sept.1867, by Rev. William Warren, Free Baptist, to Samuel William Rust, a farmer, who was born at Woodcock, Penn., 13 March 1827, son of John and Barbary (Camp) Rust. He enlisted at Grand Rapids, 28 Sept 1861, in Co. C, 2d Reg., Mich. Vol. Cavalry; and was discharged 17 Aug. 1865. They lived at Jamestown, Mich., in 1874.

V. Eliza Ann Whitney, b. at Fairfield, Vt., 17 Dec. 1847; married at Rutland, Vt., 6 May 1865, by Rev. H. F. Carpenter, Adventist, to Lodner Henry Hood, a carpenter, of Chelsea, Vt. He was born at Washington, Vt., 29 Dec. 1843, son of Amos and Betsey (Hibbard) Hood. They settled at Jamestown, Mich., and were living there in 1874.

VI. Oscar Wallace Whitney, b. at Fairfield, Vt., 25 March 1850; a farmer; married at Jamestown Centre, Mich., 23 Nov. 1871, by Rev. Elbridge Cilley, Baptist, to Amy Jackson, who was born in Commercial Road, London, England, 6 Feb. 1852, dau. of John and Amy (Barnly) Jackson. They were living at Jamestown, Mich., in Aug. 1870. He enlisted at Grand Rapids, Mich., 30 July 1864, in Co. G, 8th Reg., Mich. Vol. Infantry; and was discharged at Washington, D.C., 30 July 1865. He enlisted, 7 March 1866, under Capt. Peter E. Haine, in Co. E, -- Reg., U.S. Engineers; and was discharged 7 March 1869.
