Sacred to the Memory / of JAMES WHITNEY, Late of CALVER HILL Esqr who departed / this life the 13th April 1796 in the 73d year of his Age / You know not at what hour the Lord cometh / Therefore repent to day / And be faved for ever. / Alfo to the Memory of ELEANOR Relict of the above / JAMES WHITNEY who departed this life / the 6th May 1802. in the 69th year of her Age. / Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord

In memory of JANE the beloved wife / of JAMES WHITNEY of CALVER HILL in this parish Esquire / who having wel [----] the duties of a pious Christian / an affectionate wife, a kind relation and liberal benefactoress to the poor / after a long and painful affliction most patiently endured resigned her / soul unto the hands of Him who gave it Octr 26 AD 1823 aged 73 years / also in memory of the above JAMES WHITNEY Esqr / many years Magor[sic] on the old militia and afterwards / Lieutenant Colonel in the North local militia / of this county: he departed this life on the 7th day of / September 1838 in the 80th year of his age / respected by all who knew him.
