p. 110, #1396: Calvin6 WHITNEY did not marry Eliza EVERTON. Instead, he married 11 Sep 1814, Hartland, VT, Polly WILLIAMS, according to the Vermont vital records index. The ancestry of the Calvin WHITNEY who married Eliza EVERTON and settled in Thomaston, ME, is currently unknown, but he was apparently a brother of Haynes WHITNEY, #1397, who married Jane ROBINSON.
p. 110, #1397: Haynes WHITNEY does not belong in this family. His ancestry is currently unknown, but he was apparently a brother of Calvin WHITNEY, #1396, who married Eliza EVERTON.
p. 110, #537: The first wife is recorded in the Barbour Collection of Connecticut, Vital records as Arconche and Arconcha (not Arcoucher). The second wife Jane may be identical to the first wife, whose baptism on 7 Feb 1729, Athens, Greene Co., NY, gives her name as Jannetje, daughter of Christoffel and Gertruyd (HERTY) DUTCHER. It may be that "Arconche" is a misreading of some phonetic variant of "Jannetje". The ending "-che" is a fair phonetic rendering of the Dutch pronunciation of the ending "-tje".
p. 110, #1399: Hestry6 WHITNEY is recorded as "Hentry" and "Heretry" in the Barbour Collection of Connecticut, Vital records. Her marriage to Joshua SIRDAM (not SARDAM) in Salisbury, MA, gives her name as "Charity", according to the same source.
p. 110, #1401: Cornelius6 WHITNEY married in 1775 Hannah (not Hetty) GREEN, according to the LDS International Genealogical Index.
