William Shepard (Jonathan, Eleanor³ Whitney, Joshua², John¹), son of Jonathan and Elizabeth (Baker) Shepard, was born 12 Oct 1737, Plainfield, CT, and died 1 Sep 1802, Freehold, NY.

He married, say 1760, Rhoda Rundle, daughter of Joseph and Mindwell (Ferris) Rundle. She was born 9 Jan 1742, and died 29 Aug 1807.
