Abner7 Whitney (William6, Abner5, John4, Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), son of William6 and Hannah (Bangs) Whitney, was born about 1802, and died 7 Feb 1890, Baldwin, ME.
Marriage intentions were filed 5 Jun 1831, Standish, ME, for him and Annis Phinney "both of Standish",[1] daughter of Coleman and Margaret (Moor) Phinney. He married, 1 Aug 1831, Standish, ME, Annis M. Phinney "both of Standish".[2] She was born 15 Aug 1798, Gorham or Standish, ME, and died between 1870 and 1880 (but some sources say 29 Oct 1835; L.D.S. Pedigree Resource File says 29 Oct 1873), Baldwin, ME.
Annis apparently had an illegitimate son William S. Phinney, born 17 Jul 1821, Standish, ME, who married Harriet S.8 Whitney, Abner's niece.

She was b. 17 Mar 1878 in Brownfield, ME, and d. 24 Aug 1959. Both are buried in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Hiram, ME.
