Albert Gallatin8 Whitney (Wait7, Thomas6, Peter5, Josiah4, Josiah3, [prob.] Benjamin2, John1), son of Wait7 and Barbara (Burkholder) Whitney, was born 3 May 1847, Danville, OH, and died after 1900.
He married, 9 Nov 1871, Champaign Co., IL, Elnora Radenbaugh, of Champaign, IL. She was born 9 Aug 1849, and died after 1900.
He was born in Danville, OH, and worked on a farm until eighteen years of age, attending the district school as opportunity presented. Later, until his majority, he attended the Vermillion Institute, a Presbyterian college at Hayesville, OH. After graduating, for the following three years he taught school in Amity, OH, and in IL. Entering school at Champaign he attended five terms, teaching during vacations. Later he was principal of school at Salem, IL. He studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1873. In 1876 he moved to Salina, KS, and since then has resided in New Mexico, Champaign, IL, and Beatrice, NE. In 1890 he moved to Chicago and since then has practiced his profession there; resided 695 Fletcher St., Chicago, IL.
