Ashford⁸ Whitney (James Davis⁷, Henry⁶, John⁵, Abraham⁴, Joseph³, John², Henry¹), son of James Davis⁷ and Hannah (Pugh) Whitney, was born 18 Aug 1856, Bloomfield, OH, and died after 1911.

He married, 8 Feb 1883, Logan Co., OH, Ettie L. Thompson, daughter of John M. and Susan (Hays) Thompson. She was born about 26 Dec 1861, OH, and died 2 Nov 1883, aged 21 years 10 months 6 days. She was buried in Plum Cemetery, Lakeview, OH.^[1]

He was living in Bloomfield, OH, in 1873.
