Charles W. Whitney (John, Edward), son of John and Mary (Grant) Whitney, was born about 1827, Gray, ME, or about 13 Jul 1828, Falmouth, ME, and died 13 Mar 1889, Wakefield, MA, aged 60 years 8 months 0 days, of marasmus.[1]

Marriage intentions were published 12 Aug 1854, Falmouth, ME, for him and Harriet P. Moody.[2]) He married firstly, 13 Aug 1854, Falmouth, ME, Harriet Peabody Moody, "both of Falmouth".[3] She was born about 1838, and died between 1860 and 1870.

He married secondly, 31 Dec 1870, Boston, MA, or Somerville, MA, Hannah L. (Gould) Smith, daughter of James and Hannah H. (Libby) Gould.[4] She was born about 1830, Biddeford or Leeds, ME, and died 4 May 1898, Bridgewater, MA, aged 74 years 2 months 1 day, of paralysis.[5]

He was a carpenter.
