Daniel Whitney, parentage unknown, was born about 1819, Tompkins Co., NY and died after 1870.

He married, 30 Aug 1848, Miranda Eleanor Davis, daughter of Greeley and Lucy (Dow) Davis. She was born 21 Nov 1824, and died 1915.

She appeared in the 1906 city directory of Oil City, PA:^[1]

"Whitney Miranda E., wid. Daniel, res. 19 E. First."
