He married, Grace L. Monroe, daughter of Samuel A. and Clarinda (Low) Monroe. She was born 1868 and died 1941. She was buried in East Randolph Cemetery, East Randolph, NY.[2]
Obituary, Jamestown Evening Journal, 15 Oct 1915:
- Edward S. Whitney died at midnight Thursday at the City hospital, aged 55 years, 2 months and 2 days. He leaves a son, Bert Whitney, in the west; one daughter, Lulu of Little Valley; four brothers, William and John Whitney of Jamestown, Nathan Whitney of Toledo, O.; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Kelce of Corning, N.Y. and Mrs. Nancy Marsh of Conewango. The funeral will be held Sunday morning at 9:30 o'clock from the home of his brother William Whitney, 11 1-2 Tenth street. The burial will be at Randolph.[3]
