Franklin Morrell Whitney (Charles W., John, Edward), son of Charles W. and Martha (Moody) Whitney, was born 1859, West Falmouth, ME, and died Oct-Nov-Dec 1913, Chorlton, Lancashire, England, aged 54 years.[1]
He married, 12 Aug 1885, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland, Martha Ferguson. She was born about 1867, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland, and died Oct-Nov-Dec 1916, Chorlton, Lancashire, England, aged 48 years.[2]
Franklin was a merchant seaman and came over to Glasgow. The story goes that Franklin, always known as Frank, was at sea when my granddad was born. My great grandma Martha forgot her husband was Franklin and called my granddad Frank after his dad, thinking that was his name.

Jan-Feb-Mar 1962, Prescot, Lancashire, England, aged 66 years;[11] m. 13 Oct 1917, St. Paul's Church, Hulme, Lancashire, England, Jessie Waterhouse, dau. of Alfred Waterhouse.[12] They had 4 children, 1 boy 3 girls. My mum was the eldest girl born 1922. She married my dad Ernest Robert Cork on August 12th 1939. They had 2 children, Irene, my sister, and me, Frank, after my granddad, born 1945, my dad passed away in 1946, so I never knew him. v.
