Israel Clawson6 Whitney (Darling5, Daniel4, Richard3, John2, Henry1), son of Darling5 and Sarah (Valentine) Whitney, was born 22 Dec 1793, Woodbury, NY, and died after 1868.
He married, Feb 1816, Huntington, NY, Phebe Whitman, daughter of Nathaniel Whitman. She died after 1868.
Phoenix says the following:
- Israel Clawson Whitney, b. at East Woods, now Woodbury, L. I., 22 Dec. 1793; a farmer; married by Rev. William Schenck, Presbyterian, at West Hills, Huntington, L. I., in Feb. 1816; to Phebe Whitman, dau. of Nathaniel Whitman, of West Hills. They lived at Woodbury, in 1868.
