James S.7 Whitney (Jesse6, David5, Nathan4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Jesse6 and Mary (Sawyer) Whitney, was born 15 Nov 1797, Saco, ME,[1] or 15 Dec 1798,[2] or 15 Nov 1797, Saco, ME, and died 29 Apr 1865, Roxbury, MA, aged 66 years, of drowning.[3] He was buried in Dover, MA.
He married, 29 Sep 1823, Boston, MA, Eliza Reed.[4] She was born 25 Oct 1801, Dover, MA, and died after 1880.

Whitney, b. ca. 1836, Boston, MA; d. 28 Mar 1883, Milford, MA, aged 46 years 10 months 8 days, of phthisis pulmonalis;[5] m. 1 Oct 1854, Dover, MA, George R. J. Ruggles.[6] vi. Ruth D. Whitney, b. 3 Aug 1838, MA; d. after 1860; buried Dover, MA.[7] vii. John H. Whitney, b. ca. 1841, MA; res. Brookline in 1895. viii. Charles H. Whitney, b. ca. 1849, MA; not in family in 1855.
