Family:Whitney, John (c1818-1874)
John1 Whitney (Thomas), son of Thomas and Bridget (-----) Whitney, was born about 1818 or 1822, Ireland, and died 28 Jan 1874, Lowell, MA, aged 55 years, of heart disease.[1]
He married, before 1852, Ann Quinn, daughter of Daniel and Margaret (-----) Quinn. She was born about 1825, Ireland, and died 13 Mar 1877, Lowell, MA, aged 52 years, of pneumonia.[2]
He was a shoemaker.

Mary Whitney, b. ca. 1852, Scotland; bapt. 21 May 1854, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England; d. 14 Oct 1912, Lowell, MA; m. 27 Apr 1898, Lowell, MA, William G. Hartley, b. ca. 1844, England, son of John and Jane (Greenwood) Hartley.[5] iv. Annie T. Whitney, bapt. 27 Sep 1856, Hawick, Roxburghshire, Scotland; m. 7 May 1882, Lowell, MA, Marshall J. W. Hugh, b. ca. 1856, MA, son of James and Margaret (-----) Hugh.[6] v. Rosanna Whitney, bapt. 23 May 1859, Hawick, Roxburghshire, Scotland; d. 7 May 1910, Lowell, MA, aged 44 years 11 months, of heart disease;[7] unmarried; bur. St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell, MA. vi. John Whitney, bapt. 24 Sep 1861, Hawick, Roxburghshire, Scotland.[8]
