John Carlton7 Whitney (John6, Samuel5, Benjamin4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of John6 and Almira (Turner) Whitney, was born 16 Mar 1845, Lisbon, ME,[1] and died 17 Oct 1917, Meriden, NH.

He married firstly, 19 Sep 1882, Malden, MA, Hattie E. Russell, daughter of Walter and Lucy (-----) Russell.[2] She was born about 1862, West Newbury, MA, and died 5 Jul 1883, Malden, MA, aged 20 years 5 months 7 days, of consumption.[3]

He married secondly, 6 Oct 1886, Everett, MA, Ella Elizabeth Peaslee, daughter of Moses F. and Elizabeth J. (-----) Peaslee.[4]. She was born about 1859, Charlestown, MA, or Boston, MA.
