Family:Whitney, John Webster Perkins (1835-1919)
John Webster Perkins8 Whitney (Aaron7, Aaron6, Levi5, Daniel4, Jonathan3, Jonathan2, John1), son of Aaron7 and Rebecca (Perkins) Whitney, was born 12 Jul 1835, Biddeford, ME,[1] and died 16 Jul 1919, Melrose, MA. He was buried in Ridge Road Cemetery, Bowdoinham, ME.[2]
He married firstly, 22 Mar 1855, Olive Elizabeth Springer, daughter of Rev. John S. and Lydia (Rogers) Springer. She was born 22 Mar 1838, Bangor, ME, and died 7 Aug 1903, New England Sanitarium, Stoneham, MA [also recorded in Arlington, MA], aged 65 years 4 months 16 days, of cancer of the liver and intestines.[3] Although at death she was reported as widowed, there may have been a divorce. She married secondly, 14 Nov 1873, Boston, MA, Sidney S. Kelly, son of Francis and Marietta P. (-----) Kelley, who was born about 1849, Blackstone, MA.[4]
He married secondly, 24 Sep 1885, Portsmouth, NH, Statira W. (Given) Baker,[5] daughter of Simeon B. and Mary Ann (Denham) Given. She was born 14 Nov 1843, Bowdoinham, ME, and died 25 May 1936. She was buried in Ridge Road Cemetery, Bowdoinham, ME.[6] She had married firstly, before 1870, William Baker, and resided Falmouth, ME, in 1870.
He was an engraver. Mrs. Olive Whitney was an artist; resided Boston, Arlington, and Melrose, MA.

i. John Frank Whitney, b. 22 Dec 1856, Boston, MA;[7] m. Aura Pauline Robinson. ii. Frederick Augustus Whitney, "Augustus" b. 6 Apr 1860, Boston, MA[8] (6 Mar 1860 according to Pierce); unmarried; resided New York City, care Eimer & Amend, 205-11 Third Ave. He was graduated with distinction from Harvard university in the class of 1884. His tastes, as his chosen profession of chemistry would indicate, are strongly scientific. iii. George Eli Whitney, b. 10 Jun 1862, Boston, MA; m.(1) Ida Tufts; m.(2) Annie M. Savory.
