Jonathan Whitney, parentage unknown, was born say 1792, and died after 1820.

He "of Cazenovia" married, 25 Jan 1816, Palmer, MA, Hannah Sedgwick,^[1] daughter of Gordon and Hannah (Sackett) Sedgwick. She was born 5 Apr 1782, Louden, MA, and died after 1860.

i.	Harley John Whitney, b. Jan 1818; m. Loraine Abigail Nichols.
ii.	(son) Whitney, b. say 1820; 0-9 in 1820 census; 0-9 in 1830 census; possibly the same as Harvey S. Whitney (1820-1877).
ii.	Sarah Whitney, b. ca. 1821; m. Simeon Dodge.
ii.	(daughter) Whitney, b. say 1824; deduced from 1830 census.
ii.	Joel Sedgwick Whitney, b. 16 Aug 1827, Cazenovia, NY; m. Sarah L. Newhart.
